"We had a fantastic weekend at Akoonah Cottages - it was refreshing to find pet friendly accommodation that did not cost the earth just because we had a dog. We were all made to feel welcome and Captain thought it was the best place on earth - for a change there were welcome treats for him too. The cottages were bright and cheerful, excellent value for money.
I have recommended it to many people who love their dogs as much as we do and like to holiday with them - we will definitely be going back."

"We had a fantastic stay at the 'Akoonah' studio, the dogs were spoilt by Cathy, and the local 4-legged resident Claudius. They had a great time roaming around the surrounding native bush not to mention investigating the frogs in the pond! (Luckily a dog towel was provided.) The accommodation was perfect for us- being all open plan - everything was close and handy! And the veranda with table, chairs and hammock was lovely to sit out on in the afternoons. Thanks to 'Akoonah' Mgmt for a lovely holiday home and we look forward to visiting again soon!"

"We found the atmosphere to be extremely relaxing and a real sanctuary away from the hustle and bustle of busy Byron Bay! On arrival our hosts made us feel immediately welcome. The studio had quality furnishings and an extra nice touch was the dog biscuits awaiting Spike, our Border Collie! We were grateful we could leave the dog in a secure environment if we went out without him."

"Our stay was exactly what we needed. We could only take the weekend off work as we were between jobs, moving and building a house so we were after a quick respite! Unfortunately, we didn't stay as long as we would have loved to at Akoonah Cottage, but we hope to head back as soon as possible and relive the surreal experience. Our little puppies thoroughly enjoyed the cottage stay and stayed up late at night watching movies and snacking on the welcome dog biscuits we received on arrival!"

"The cottage was ideal. Pets are totally accepted complete with doggie biscuits. It was peaceful and quiet, yet close enough to Bangalow, Byron & Lennox Heads not to be too out of the way. Overall we could not have asked for more. A great little information pack in the cottage gave us all we needed to find great places to visit and even better places to eat."
